DFW Dental Assisting School operates at 2240 Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound, Texas, 75028.

Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. for 12 weeks. We ask that all students set aside time for personal study during the week.

Yes. As Registered Dental Assistants, our staff knows that funding your tuition can be challenging. We believe that students’ tuition should cover everything–that’s why you never have to worry about hidden fees when you enroll in our program.

Items Included:

Textbook, Workbook, Syllabus, Dental Materials, CPR Certification, Instrument Pocket Guide, Mouth Models, Resume Construction, and Equipment Usage. Students are responsible for purchasing scrubs, as well as bringing note-taking materials and writing devices for class.

Students must be at least 18 years old to register for classes. However, there is no age limit for those interested in pursuing a career in dental fields. Anyone with good dexterity and health can be a dental assistant with the right training.

Our accelerated course will have you job ready in only 12 weeks, where other programs can take up to 9 months. While your starting salary will be the same no matter which school you attend, our cost is significantly lower than theirs, saving you upwards of $15,000.

To work as a Registered Dental Assistant in Texas, you must pass an examination administered by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). Our school’s goal is to prepare students as much as possible for this exam. According to the TSBDE and the DANB (Dental Assisting National Board), a diploma from an “accredited” school is not a requirement to work as a Registered Dental Assistant. In fact, the Commission on Dental Accreditation lists very few “accredited” dental assisting schools in the state of Texas.

Once students reach acceptable levels of proficiency, they are invited to schedule shadowing time with Cross Timbers Dental during normal business hours. You’ll have the opportunity to observe real dental assistants and practice what you’ve learned.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook, median pay for dental assistants exceeds $35,000 per year. Employment opportunities in the field are expected to grow by 25% through 2020.

Each state has its own set of requirements. We recommend you check the requirements of the state in question before transferring.

While we are not a job placement agency, we do provide the names of our graduates to area dentists and specialists who are seeking new employees. We also offer free resume-writing assistance to help prepare you for your job search.
